Know Before You Go!

What to Wear

This is what you should plan to wear each day you’re at ADPi Academy:

  • Friday: School Spirit Casual – Pair your favorite school spirit shirt (t-shirts or sweatshirts are appropriate) with nice jeans and booties, sneakers, or dress shoes.
  • Saturday: Blue and White Business Casual
    • We encourage you to dress in blue and white on Saturday! Dress up your go-to pair of pants with a fun pair of ankle boots, add heels to elevate flared jeans, pair a jumpsuit with a collared shirt, or dress up your favorite pair of jeans with a blazer and you’ll be good to go. This will be a day where you’ll be in educational sessions all day, so you’ll want to consider comfort in what you wear!
  • Sunday: ADPi Casual – Show off your ADPi spirit with a letters or a favorite ADPi shirt (t-shirts or sweatshirts are appropriate) with nice jeans and booties, sneakers, or dress shoes.

You are encouraged to dress comfortably throughout the weekend in whatever allows you to be ready to learn and prepared to enjoy all the activities. Hotel meeting rooms tend to be a bit cool, so you may want to bring a light jacket or sweater.

Nametags will be provided onsite.

  • Be mindful of space and time, allowing everyone the chance to share.

  • Show gratitude and respect for yourself, others, and the experience.

  • Listen actively and engage thoughtfully.

  • Ask questions to deepen your understanding.

  • Attend all registered sessions, meals, and events on time and prepared.

  • Limit distractions by minimizing cell phone and device use during sessions. (Laptops and tablets may be used for note-taking or scheduled activities.)

The success of our conference also depends on the goodwill we build with our host property. Alpha Delta Pi expects all participants to respect hotel property, staff, and fellow guests. Excessive noise or disruptive behavior in public areas or guest rooms will not be tolerated. Please follow all established health and safety policies to ensure the well-being of everyone on site. Failure to do so may result in removal from the conference without refund or reimbursement.

All ADPi Academy participants must:

  • Be able to attend the entire program.

  • Have at least one full academic year remaining (not graduating early or studying abroad).

  • Be committed to applying and sharing ideas learned at ADPi Academy within your chapter.

  • Sign an agreement to reimburse the chapter for program costs if the full officer term (one calendar year) is not completed.

  • Be aware of your surroundings and keep your personal belongings with you at all times.

  • Travel in pairs or groups when moving around the property, especially in the evening.

  • Remember that we will not be the only guests at the property and be mindful of those around you.

  • If something feels uncomfortable or unsafe, trust your instincts and notify a staff member immediately.

  • Review the emergency procedures and evacuation routes, and know the closest exits to each session room.

Members are to travel in safe and reasonable comfort and in a manner consistent with financial responsibility. Business should be conducted in a prudent and cost-effective manner. The following policies will provide guidance at the chapter level for expenses that may be reimbursable.

If you find that extenuating circumstances require choices outside these guidelines for personal safety or cost reasons, please contact your chapter Vice President of Finance for approval. Additionally, some leadership training events may have special reimbursement instructions that will be conveyed in advance and followed.
